Diary Entry #27
25 July 2007
Hi everyone and let me first apologise for taking so long to write!! Rod bought me a new Apple Mac laptop and honestly, I have been too nervous to use it!!!!!
(Don’t tell Rod I am writing this on my old PC!!!)
Anyway, I am slowly getting use to it and have started emailing on it and the main thing is I have bought a lovely new red laptop handbag to put it in!!!!!
Well I just had a quick read of my last letter so I could see where we were up to….. I realised I didn’t tell you all about the John Williamson concert we did. It was wonderful! The only time I really got nervous was when we were rehearsing in the afternoon and I was singing, “Purple Roses” and I looked over to the side of stage and there was John Williamson!!! My heart skipped a beat and I thought to myself I hope I am doing his songs ok and respectfully and all that!!! He came over and asked me why I chose “Purple Roses”. I am kicking myself for my answer!! I said Sara and Beccy helped me pick it and thought it would suit me, what I really meant to say is that it means a lot to me because it’s about growing old together and being ok about that. I love it because Rod always says to me how much he loves getting old with me and he thinks I am lovelier now than ever before!!! (isn’t he beautiful?) Anyway, it was one of those Seinfeld moments where you wish you could go back and say what you meant!!
Last week I travelled to Melbourne to record Rockwiz. (A show on SBS a little like Spicks and Specks).
I sang “Oh Darlin’” and then did a duet with Doc Neeson from the Angels. We sang “I’ll be your Baby Tonight”.
I had to also sit on the panel and answer questions…well…try.
The host Julia asked me what these 3 music type people all had in common. I had absolutely no idea, (In fact I can’t even remember who they were now…) anyway my answer to what they all had in common was, “Did they all have hair??” Oh I thought I was very funny!!!
This week I am preparing for the Gympie Muster (A huge country music festival in Qld) I haven’t performed there for a few years now so it’s very exciting!!
Trying to figure out which songs to do, what to wear…..all that stuff!
I am on The Saturday night (August 25) and I’m hoping Beccy may come and sing a song with me!!!
Ok now the whole idea of me having the new laptop is so I can write my letters more regularly, my news as it happens almost!!! So hopefully it won’t be so long next time!
Thank you to all of you who come and say hi and tell me you like my letters!!
It’s always great to put faces to who is reading this!!!
So have a wonderful week and I will talk soon!!
Live well, Laugh often and Love much!!!
And don’t forget if you love someone, tell them!! Hug them!!! Kiss them!!!
Lots of love

PS Nice little Jackson story…..
Jackson loves to jump off the kitchen bench into my Dad’s arms and Mum watches and pretends to be very nervous. Well a few days ago, Mum said, “Ooh Jackson, I’m a bit nervous. I hope Poppy doesn’t drop you.”
Jackson replied, “Don’t worry Nanna, Poppy won’t drop me, he loves me.”
Aah melts your heart!

Diary Entry #26
4 July 2007
Hi everyone!
Thanks for reading.
We have been out this week touring with the Songbirds and having lots of fun!!
We were down south around Canberra, Goulbourn and Shell Harbour.
We changed the show around a little so if you have already been to one of our shows, you could come back and see something new!!!!
As you know we are preparing for the John Williamson tribute concert at Tamworth this weekend coming, so we have put a few of his songs into our set. One of my favourite moments is when we sing “Old Man Emu” in a rocking Songbirds kind of a way!! (I am going to be so nervous singing in front of John!!!!) Yikes!!!! …..Oh I just know I will be fine on the night!!!!!! Lots of fun!!!
Backstage is looking more and more like a rebellious teenagers room with clothes and makeup strewn everywhere!!! Takes quite a bit of packing up after the show!!!!
On Thursday night we are heading down to Sydney for a show at the Basement (very trendy little inner city venue!!) We have lots of friends coming to this one so it should be fun!
On the home front…… This week I painted a wall in our kitchen in Blackboard paint!!
I think it looks fantastic!! I write my groceries, love notes, and Jackson draws on it!!!!
Everyone doubted me as I did it, but, I think it is wonderful and very practical!!!!
Jackson continues to light up our life everyday and not a moment goes by when I don’t count him as a little blessing. He is so funny!!!
We caught him kissing his goldfish good morning (through the tank!!!) and he then told them he loves them!!! (We are a very affectionate family!!!!!!)
He came into our room in the wee hours the other night, jumped up to me and said, “Mummy, this is just a quick cuddle because I am going into see Nanna, ok?” I said “Oh couldn’t you stay and give Mummy and Daddy a cuddle?” and he replied with his usual beautiful manners, “No Thankyou.”
Oh he does love his Nanna!!!
Speaking of Mum, she is doing so well after her op. Mum and Dad are up in Qld at the moment visiting relatives and Jackson is missing them!!!!!
By the way, I just did my grocery shopping while Jackson was at pre school today so you needn’t worry about me running over his little foot with the shopping trolley!!! (thanks for asking Deb and Jill!!!)
Anyway, tonight it’s State of Origin night, and I have to make home made pizzas and dress Jackson up in his Qld jersey (it really annoys my NSW born husband, Rod!!!)
So for now
Live well, Laugh often and Love much!!!
Lots of Love
Gina x
