Diary Entry #23

Hi everyone!
First of all thank you so much for all of you concern, kind wishes and prayers for my Mum!
The op went really well and Mum is home and doing unbelievably well!! She is really sore but it all went so well we are all so relieved and happy!!!
We are all really enjoying having her home and I know that getting to see Jacksons beautiful little face and hear his giggles is making Mum feel better everyday.
Mum and Dad are staying here with us while Mum recuperates and I am really enjoying getting to cook for her and spoil her like she has done for me my whole life!!
The Songbirds did our Twintowns show last Friday and we sold it out and had a ball!!
I just love it up there!!!!
We saw lots of familiar faces and quite a few new ones as well. Thanks so much to Donna for all the lovely pressies you gave us and to Bob who made a Bob the Builder building set for Jackson. (He loves it!!)
This week I had a meeting with my agent to book in lots more shows for Sara, Beccy and me. Looks like we are going to be very busy!!! We will be visiting most states this year, so watchout for the tour dates and come say hi if we are near you.
Beccy heads over to the U.S on Friday and I am going to miss her so much!! We think we will catch up on Thursday night at a Kasey Chambers gig at a local hotel here for our goodbyes.
When she gets back Sara, Bec and I will get together to redesign our Songbirds show so it’s new and fresh, so even if you have seen it already you could come again and it will be different!!!
I had this idea that we should go to a fashion designer and get outfits made that all go together but are still unique to each of us!! I think that sounds fun!! (You know me and clothes!!! I love to shop….though I am sitting here writing this in my tracksuit and daggy hair with no makeup!!!!)
Today I have been out looking for new lounges!! I love it!! Though it’s hard to get just the right size and colour, but still it’s fun to keep looking!!
One of my girlfriends, Aleyce (young star of the future!) and I are going to go to Sydney one day soon and have a really good look!! Should be fun!!!
Rod and I have had the same white lounges for quite a few years and clearly we bought them before kids (hence lots of vegemite and playdough stains!!)
Rod is still working on Adam Harveys new album. I can’t wait to hear it all!! It sounds amazing!! I think he has the most beautiful voice!!!
Last week Jackson went to Kasey’s little boys birthday party and had a ball!!! Beccy’s son Ricky was there and Adam Harveys beautiful wife and kids were too. Jackson thinks they are all the coolest kids on the planet!! It was a reptile party!! With snakes and alligators!!!! I well and truly kept my distance!!!
The day my mum went to have her operation last week, I went to one of my girlfriends house for some moral support and while we were there, Jackson climbed right to the top of the monkey bars in between the slippery dip and the swing and hung on rather precariously. I yelled out, “Hey, what are you doing up there?” and Jackson yelled back, “Don’t worry mum, I’m just showing Emily what not to do!!!”
Ahh that child cracks me up!!! I told Mum the next day and she cursed me for the pain it caused to laugh!!!
Until next week!!!
Live well, Laugh often and Love much!!!
Lots of love

Diary Entry #22
22 May 2007
Hi Everyone and thanks for reading again!!!
It’s been another busy week….. I did a couple of shows with Beccy Cole last weekend and as always I laughed myself silly!!! Beccy makes me laugh out loud all day!!
It was great to be back in Coffs Harbour and Lismore again!! We were thrilled to get sellout shows again too!!!
We did some fun radio interviews while we were there too. One was in a tiny little community radio station (who we love by the way because they really support Australian music!!) but at the end of the interview, the lovely interviewer asked us if we had anything else we’d like to say before we go, you know, any last words. Well as per usual, Bec and I were in silly giggly moods, so Beccy said, “Carburettor” and I said, “Sausage!” and we left!!! That man and his listening audience now think we are nuts I’m sure!
From that interview on, our answers for every question were pretty ridiculous with a little bit of sensible mixed in!
We arrived home on Mothers Day, and our families had a picnic in a quiet little park at the end of our friends street. Jackson hadn’t seen me in a few days and he ran into my arms and held on like he was never going to let go!! That was all the present I needed!! But he had made me a beautiful bangle out of orange and green pipe cleaners and a gorgeous little painting of his feet with a beautiful card Nanna helped him make.
And yes Rod did buy me a present!! A lovely hand bag and watch! (Alright….I picked it myself!!!)
We had a wonderful day!
Then early in the week, Sara Storer, Beccy and I went to the Gold Coast to promote our Twin Towns show. We had a lot of fun as always. Our show there has totally sold out which we are absolutely thrilled about! Can’t wait for this Friday there! It is one of my fave venues!
Brings back lots of great memories and I get to see lots of my Queensland friends.
We had a lovely dinner while we were there with one of my best friends for over 20 years, Katrina and her hubby, Dave. Fun!
This week I am going down to Sydney very early on Wednesday morning to be on the Today Show. I think we will be performing “Stepped Right in It.”
Did you see Spicks and Specks at last??? Gosh I recorded that show over a couple of months ago!! Anyway it was a lot of fun and I would love to do it again!!
I hope you’ve seen the new clip on CMC. I would love it if you could request it for me like you all did last time. Remember you all got it to # 1 !
We will put it up on the website really soon!!
Today I am a little nervous because my Beautiful Mum is going in for major surgery. I really feel like she will be ok but I would love it if you would pray for her or if you are into thinking wonderful positive thoughts you could send them out to the universe to help her recover! I believe every little bit helps.
My gorgeous Dad got all dressed up this morning, bought beautiful flowers and went up to the hospital to his bride!!
They love each other so much it’s truly inspirational.
Anyway, I apologise if there are lots of typos on this but I have written the whole thing with my little boy on my lap, talking non stop and wriggling a lot!!
He is singing a lovely little song right now!!!
Oh good news!!!! Jackson sleeps through the night every night now!!!!! Yay!!! After 4 years of very little sleep in this house, we have done it!!! Woohooo!!!!!
Anyway got go to swimming lessons and up to visit Mum!
Until next week!
Live well, Laugh often and Love much
Lots of Love

Diary Entry #21
10 May 2007
Hi everyone!
Thanks so much for reading again.
Well we have had a lot of people get in touch asking if I am ok since my last letter.
Thank you all so much for your concern. I was really touched. I am ok!!! All better now!!! No need to worry anymore!!
This week has been another huge week!
On Thursday we did a show up at Newcastle with The Songbirds (Me, Beccy Cole and Sara Storer) and it was so much fun!!! It was another sellout crowd which thrills us to pieces!!! It was the first show back in a few weeks (Beccy and I just finished a tour just the two of us) so we felt a bit nervous backstage!
It didn’t help that we struck so much traffic on the way there and we were a little bit late to sound check!! I really like to get to a concert really early and just slowly get ready and psyche myself up for the show, but this time we had to really rush to be ready!!!! Backstage looked like a bomb hit it!!! There were clothes everywhere and makeup and jewellery all over the place!! Anyway it was a wonderful show with a great audience!!
Next night we were off to Campbelltown in Sydney. Another sellout!!! We all felt a bit more confident that we new what we were doing this time!!!
Poor Beccy was not terribly well and worried that she was going to lose her voice, so Sara and I signed autographs after the show and sent her home early because she had to record a live album on Monday and Tuesday nights!!
Rod and I had a beautiful weekend off together and some much needed quiet time together. Rod works so hard he just has to completely stop sometimes! (Me too actually!!)
On Monday and Tuesday nights just gone, Beccy Cole recorded her new live album at a wonderful venue called Lizottes.
Sara Storer and I sang a song with her for the album. (It was a John Williamson song called “Galleries of Pink Galahs”) It’s a really pretty song with lots of harmony….though very hard to learn!!! (I am a shocker at remembering words of songs!!!! How funny is that, considering it’s what I do for a living!!!)
Kasey Chambers also sang a song with Bec which was gorgeous.
We had so much fun!!!
I think it’s gonna be a fantastic live album!!!! Beccy is such an incredible entertainer!!
(And very funny too!!!!! You should hear all the nonsense that goes on back stage!!!)
This week Beccy and I are off to Lismore and Sawtell and we will get back on Mothers Day. Bec’s little boy Ricky will stay here with my Mum and Dad and hang out with Jackson. (They adore each other!!)
Arriving back on Mothers Day I am expecting that my lovely husband will forget to get me a present!!! Ahhh wait and see!!! Jackson has already given me a picture of his feet!!! Very cute!!!! (He made it at pre school.)
Anyway I think we will end up picnicking with our friends and family on the nearby waterfront if the weather is good, so it should be lovely!
I would like to thank you all so much for your continued support and for always reading my letters. I really do appreciate you taking the time.
I hope if you’re a Mum you have a wonderful Mothers Day and I hope the rest of you take this day to tell your Mums how much you love them!!!
I sure love mine and I tell her everyday!!!!!
Until next week!!
Live Well, Laugh Often and Love Much!!!
Lots of Love

PS Thought you might like another funny Jackson (my little boy) story before I go…..
Our beautiful friend, Aleyce Symonds was playing with Jackson the other day and they started talking about ice skating. Aleyce asked Jackson if he had ever been ice skating and he just laughed and said, “Don’t be silly Aleyce, we’re too little to go ice skating!!” Aleyce is 20, but Jackson thinks they are the same age!!! How cute is that??

Diary Entry #20
1 May 2007
Well Hello!!
It sure has been a long time since I last wrote to you. I am so sorry for the delay, but as Dianne (fanclub president), let you know, I have been unwell.
Today is my first day in a couple of weeks that I have bounced out of bed like I normally do. Back in the beginning of April I got the same old cough everybody I know seems to have and then before I knew it, it turned to bronchitis and then quickly moved to pleurisy. No Fun!!! I actually did two whole tours this way and my Dr. tells me if I hadn’t have worked through and kept singing every night and out in the cold night air, I would have recovered a lot more quickly. I don’t know if any of you have ever had it, but it is really painful!! A bit like a rib poking into your lungs!!! (Very hard to sing this way!!!) Then on my last visit to the doctor he said my rib was broken from all the coughing!!! Oh you must be feeling so sorry for me by now!!!! Anyway, I feel fabulous now and never want to have that again so it’s onward and upward!!!!
I got to meet lots of our readers when I was out on tour. I just love meeting you because it gives me a face in my mind of who is reading this!!! The general comment was it has been too long since my last letter so now you know why!!!
Touring has been so much fun (other than the sick bit!!)
I have been out with the Songbirds (Beccy Cole and Sara Storer) and also doing shows just Beccy and me. We all get on so well, it really is fun to perform together. The thing that is absolutely thrilling all of us is that everywhere we go the shows are selling out!! We get such a thrill when we pull in and see all the cars jam packed I the carpark and the “SOLDOUT” signs out the front!!
Who would have thought that 3 chick singers could pull bigger crowds than the boys!!! We are loving it!!!
Anyway, if we are in your area (Australia only at this stage) come along if you can. It certainly is the best show I have ever been a part of! Beccy is so funny! I spend a lot of the night crying with laughter and Sara has such a dry Australian charm about her. I think the reason the show is working so well is that you can really see our strong friendships and I know when I go to see an act, I love to see them enjoying themselves!!!
Of course we are all on and off stage a lot both together and alone and we interact with each other and sing with each other, but the fun is also backstage where we are all trying on each others clothes and jewellery, and sharing makeup and hair products.
One night Sara and I were backstage putting on yet another outfit, and we were fiddling with our hair and makeup and chatting away, we almost forgot to go back out in one of Beccy’s songs!!!!
Did any of you watch the Sunday Programme this week (29th of April)? I was on it. We actually filmed that while I was sick, so if you saw it and wondered why I sounded so weird (Funny voice!) now you know why!!
Also Monday the 30th April I was on that new show “Mums and Bubs” on Channel 7. That was lots of fun. Still haven’t been on Spicks and Specks!!! (ABC Wednesday nights 8.30pm Australia only) Must be soon!!! We filmed that ages ago.
We are about to put the new video clip up op on the website and My Space too. New single, Stepped Right in It”. (Featuring Beccy Cole and I dressed up as 70 year old women!!) I would love it if you could request it on CMC!! (last time, many thanks to your votes, my first clip, “Live It” went to no.1 !!)
On the home front everything is wonderful. Jackson is running around madly and loving life!! He had swimming lessons this morning and is doing so well!
Rod is busy producing Adam Harveys new album which I think is going to be wonderful. He is also about to produce Beccy Coles new live album which will be brilliant! I will be singing on it with Sara Storer and I think Kasey Chambers is making an appearance too! Should be fantastic!
So it is a very busy household as usual but I need someone to talk some sense into me…I think I have fallen head over heels for a beautiful puppy!!! He is a labradoodle and sooooo cute!!! Now the common sense side of my brain tells me I am too busy and away touring too often for a dog, but the Mummy part of me thinks it would be wonderful for Jackson!!!! I haven’t had a dog since I was a kid and I know I have forgotten how big the responsibility is but he was soooo cute!!!!
I will keep you posted. (Rod has a big fat standard answer for me that says “NO”!!!!) Anyway, maybe I will get over it!!
Anyway gotta go because Jackson is at my feet about to unplug the computer so I better go and play with him!!!
Until next week!
Live well, Laugh often and Love much!!!
Gina x
