Diary Entry #45
2 June 2008

Hello everyone!
I hope this letter finds you well and happy!!

Well this last week has been lovely….
My best friend from when I was 11, Nat had her 40th birthday on the weekend.
We had a wonderful time! We went to a very posh restaurant just up the road from where we live and had a beautiful meal with lovely wine.
My parents came too and it was quite funny because their generation are much more use to those big old fashioned wholesome meals and this restaurant did the teeny weeny little meals on the great big white plates!! You know the ones I am sure!!
Anyway it was lovely to spend time with friends and family!
We then went to Nats on Sunday afternoon for drinks which turned into dinner and had lots of fun!!

There is really nothing like your old friends! We have known each other so long there is nothing we don’t know about the other!! We always laugh that we have to stay friends because we know too much!!!

I can’t forget to tell you also that last Friday Nat asked me to fill in for her netball team! At first I said no but then I gave in and went!! Wow what fun!!! I loved it but as I type this even my finger muscles are hurting!!! Ouch!! Now I run almost every day and I thought I was reasonably fit…..well it turns out I am not as fit as I thought!!!
It was good for a laugh though!! I hope my opponents kind of feel sorry for me when I tell them that I haven’t played for nearly 20 years!!! But they still seem to run all over the place!!!! Maybe I should sing to distract them!! Lol!!

My beautiful parents Nola and Graham travelled to Melbourne last week to pick up their brand new Jayco caravan. Well they arrived home a few days ago looking more relaxed than I have seen them in a long time!!!
They had a great little holiday. They especially loved Batemans Bay.
Wow their caravan is absolutely magnificent!! They are so happy!!
We used to caravan as kids and boy have caravans changed!!! They have an ensuite, 2 flatscreen tvs, cd, dvd, washing machine, microwave and everything you could ever need!!!
They really couldn’t be happier with their Jayco!! And I am sure they would whole heartedly recommend it to anyone looking to get a caravan!!
They are now officially part of the grey nomads and they love that!!!!

Our little boy Jackson is doing very well with his soccer!! Rod and I have decided it is just our favourite thing to do when we go to soccer every Saturday! We just love it!!
Rod use to play soccer (yes he is very sporty too!!) and he practices every night with Jackson before we put him to bed!!! Our little boy does seem to be turning out all sporty and musical just like his gorgeous Dad!!! (He is still a keen drummer and guitar player!!)

Just the other day Rod was giving me a quick lesson on my laptop on how to record my self when I write songs. Well I wasn’t paying too much attention but Jackson was it seems!! We left the room and came back in and Jackson had recorded himself beat boxing a groovy rhythm with his mouth!! Wow!! We were blown away!! Kids are just so switched on these days with computers!!!
I need to take some lessons off our 5 year old!!
He is very proud that he has written his first song!!!

Anyway on that musical note, I must go and cook dinner for my boys.

I am sorry that I am not getting to see any of you on the road at the moment but to tell you the truth, we are enjoying being home soooooo much!!! Rod and I have spent our entire adult lives up until this point out on the road, so we are really loving being home, being soccer parents, sleeping in our own beautiful bed every night and just enjoying the simple things in life!! (Like cooking dinner!!)

I believe life is ever changing and evolving and it is important to enjoy every moment!!

So, Live well, laugh often and love much!!

Until next time, take care!

Love Gina xx

PS I wrote this whole thing with Jackson in the background playing his electric guitar (fender strat) and singing along!!
Ahhh aint life grand??
